I dreamt of being an IAS officer,
i dreamt of being a top lawyer,
i dreamt of being a politician,
i dreamt to become a public icon;

With ambitions and desires i joined my work,
to do something meaningful,something soulfull;

But its while working that i realised,
if i try to change the system the system changes me;

Ready to take up the challengesthe system puts forth,
i strive and try to follow the hypocritical oath;

The just things i did,
came out unjust on the surface;

The machinery,that worked for so many years,i tried to lubricate,
but it became frictionless enough to slip me down out of the gate;

Its after so many hardships that i realised,
that we the people begotten of this nation,
are working in a system whose roots now lay rotten.
